Most of Akagera’s wildlife is active at night, and a night drive with a park ranger is the only way to see it. You stay the night inside or beside the park and head out after dinner with a spotlight.
The ranger reads the bush for you: owls, nightjars, genets, civets, hyena and, with luck, a leopard. It pairs naturally with a daytime game drive the following morning.
